The Fonestar NMX-88 is a professional 8 x 8 analogue audio matrix with powerful DSP processing, designed for distributed audio, conferencing and sophisticated commercial sound installations. Eight balanced analogue inputs and eight balanced outputs provide flexible routing, allowing different input mixes and volume levels to be assigned independently to each output.
Built around an ADI SHARC 21489 DSP architecture, the NMX-88 provides advanced processing including Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Acoustic Feedback Cancellation (AFC), Automatic Noise Suppression (ANS) and Automatic Gain Control (AGC). Comprehensive PC configuration software, customisable user interfaces, GPIO control and PTZ camera tracking make it particularly suitable for conference rooms, hotels, restaurants, shopping centres and multi-zone audio systems.
The NMX-88 is ideal for multi-zone commercial audio, conference rooms, video conferencing, meeting spaces, hotels, restaurants, shopping centres, educational facilities and corporate AV systems. Its flexible routing and extensive DSP functions allow the matrix to be configured for both speech and music applications.
For conference and video call rooms, AEC, AFC, noise suppression and automatic gain control help improve speech intelligibility, while PTZ camera tracking provides additional integration possibilities. In distributed audio systems, independent routing allows each output zone to receive its own selection and mix of input sources.

The NMX-88 provides extensive control over both individual channels and complete audio zones. Each input can be routed to individual outputs with independent assignment levels, allowing a different audio mix to be created for every output zone. Channels can also be linked for stereo operation when required.
Modular PC configuration software gives installers detailed access to routing, DSP, equalisation, dynamics, gain and control functions. Custom user interfaces can then be created for touchscreens, tablets and smartphones, allowing end users to access only the controls they require without exposing the underlying system configuration.
Multiple NMX-88 matrices can also be managed through the configuration software, making the platform suitable for larger and more complex distributed audio installations.
Yes. The 8 x 8 assignment matrix allows any input to be routed to the required outputs, with independent volume adjustment for each assignment. This makes it possible to create a different source mix for each output zone.
Yes. The eight balanced microphone/line inputs support selectable 48V phantom power for compatible condenser microphones.
Yes. The integrated Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Acoustic Feedback Cancellation (AFC), Automatic Noise Suppression (ANS) and Automatic Gain Control (AGC) functions make it particularly suitable for conference rooms and video conferencing systems.
Yes. Custom user control interfaces can be created for compatible Android and iOS touchscreen devices, allowing users to access selected functions such as source selection and volume control.
Yes. Ethernet, UDP, RS-232 and RS-485 connectivity is provided for integration with external control systems. The NMX-88 also offers eight configurable GPIO ports for controlling matrix functions or interacting with other equipment.
